In this first episode, Loïc and Bénedicte (Saga), a couple from Brittany, are travelling as a family with their two children, undertaking their second navigation around the world. They left Tenerife this Saturday despite light conditions, Loïc trusting his Outremer 55 to manage to catch enough wind. “Our boats only need a breath of wind to move,” he said

A fleet of 32 boats holding more than 100 crew members from 13 Nationalities, and 2 dogs, have embarked on a three-year round-the world adventure this October 2021.
Organised by blue water sailing group Grand Large Yachting and famous sailor Jimmy Cornell, the Grand Large Yachting World Odyssey 500 commemorates the 500th anniversary of the first round-the-world voyage by Ferdinand Magellan and Juan Sebastian Elcano between 1519 and 1522.
As part of the official events commemorating the 500th anniversary of the first circumnavigation, the #GLYWO500 connecting like-minded people who will share together the experience of a lifetime.
This first stage in Tenerife, which was not without its twists and turns, marked the beginning of the adventure by crossing the Atlantic . The Grand Large Yachting team was present to catch this important moment.
