Acquiring an RM sailing yacht is always an exciting perspective! Whether it’s a brand-new model or a second-hand. If our building process is quite long, it’s because we pay due attention to the quality of our products – all our plywood monohull sailboats are thoroughly built by our expert team in our French shipyard since 1989.
The good news is that you will still benefit from quality when acquiring a used RM. Why? Because we observe that most of RM owners do take care of their yachts! A well-maintained second-hand cruising yacht could be the best option for your blue water cruising plans! Or any of your plans, actually (coastal cruising, world travel, etc.).
A subsidiary of Grand Large Yachting group – just like RM Yachts – GLS (Grand Large Services) is a company specialized in the services dedicated to RM owners, should it be brand-new or second-hand sailboats. Not only their expert team knows RM yachts in-and-out, and will be able to help you find your dream liveaboard sailing yacht, but they will also be helpful when it comes to maintenance and/or refit: spare parts, options to be added, etc.

Because RM yachts are well-built, using our plywood-epoxy construction technique, their quotation on the second-hand market is significantly higher than GRP-made typical white-hull family cruisers. More affordable than a brand-new RM, a second-hand RM sailing boat represents a smart investment, and her sale will be even easier once you have completed your port-hopping or ocean crossing plans.

Successeur, au sein de notre famille, du RM1200 Alfred, Hitchcock est un 1260 monoquille bi-safran Kevlar, soigneusement customisé et minutieusement équipé pour répondre à nos goûts et à nos exigences. Après un été de rodage dans le Golfe de Gascogne, Hitchcock a traversé l’Atlantique en équipage familial réduit, à l’hiver 2013-2014. Depuis, le bateau a sillonné l’Arc Antillais, passant l’hiver aux Iles Vierges et l’été dans les Grenadines et à la Grenade. Naviguant six mois par an et tiré au sec le reste du temps (sous un taud intégral), Hitchcock a été entretenu avec un soin maniaque, n’a jamais été loué et a toujours été utilisé « en bon marin ». C’est un bateau rapide, facile et maniable, qui procure un vrai plaisir de naviguer. Owner's words: RM 1260 HITCHCOCK
The successor in our family to the RM1200 Alfred, Hitchcock is a 1260 single keel bi-safran Kevlar, carefully customised and meticulously equipped to meet our tastes and requirements. After a summer of breaking in in the Bay of Biscay, Hitchcock crossed Atlantic Ocean with a small family crew in the winter of 2013-2014. Since then, the boat has sailed the Caribbean Arc, wintering in the Virgin Islands and summering in the Grenadines and Grenada. Sailing for six months of the year and on hard -in a safe shipyard- the rest of the time (under a full awning), Hitchcock has been maintained with manic care, never chartered and always used as a 'good sailor'. She is a fast, easy and manoeuvrable boat that is a real pleasure to sail. Strong,safe, comfortable at sea and at anchor, she is perfectly adapted to life at sea (return of all manoeuvres to the cockpit and watch inside) as well as to coastal sailing. Selling her is a heartbreak... to pass on her a consolation !
