Ce RM 1070 est construit à base de contreplaqué, stratifié à l’époxy. Ces matériaux et cette méthode de construction confèrent à ce voilier de croisière une rigidité, une raideur à la toile, gages de performance sous voile. Ce procédé permet de bénéficier d’une isolation thermique et phonique et d'un volume à bord sans égal.
La carène est remarquable par son volume et son brion surélevé favorisant un départ au planning plus rapide.
