Last January, we told you about the beginning of Anne and Jean-Pierre’s trip, who slipped lines with Rayon Vert, their RM1060 #24.
After sharing the video of their arrival – after having sailed round the world – let’s go back to the beginning of this adventure!
D-day: 1st of August, 2016, 10AM. Target: 5 years around the world! The event is covered by the gazette of the local yacht club, in Dieppe
The route will undergo various hazards, such as changing weather forecasts, strong streams, deceptive encounters, plus a broken arm requiring an emergency stop. Many setbacks that Anne and Jean-Pierre will have to face, losing a bit of time on initial schedule.
But Rayon Vert owners are well supported, and, finally, on September 2016, it’s time to say goodbye! They leave Lorient in Brittany, heading toward La Corogne in Spain. 4 crew on board. As Jean-Pierre says: “starting with the spinnaker, then alternate between gusts and flat calms, we’ll end up motoring before reaching La Corogne, at early morning on day 3”.
